Congratulations to Nicole Penfold – Chartered Town Planner
Our daughter, Nicole, has successfully completed her Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and is now a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Nicole studied at Newcastle University, gaining a BA(Hons) in Geography & Planning and an MSc in Town Planning.
Nicole now works at Gladman Developments as a policy planner in the Strategic Land Team. A key role that Nicole undertakes is the preparation of representations in response to local authorities’ planning policy documents. This involves analysis and scrutiny of the proposals against both local needs and also the requirements of national planning policy. Nicole instructs and manages a range of specialist consultants who prepare supporting evidence to submit alongside the representations. Nicole also attends and supports colleagues and external consultants at the Examination hearings into the Local Plans.
Prior to joining the Gladman Group Nicole worked in local government, initially at Manchester City Council where she worked in the Housing Investment Options Team assisting in the delivery of the Local Authority New Build programme. Following this, Nicole worked at Cheshire West & Chester Council in the Growth Point Team, part of Spatial Planning. While there she worked on a variety of housing related projects including monitoring the New Homes Bonus, assisting bringing sites forward for residential development and the preparation of planning applications for Gypsy and Traveller site provision on a number of Council owned sites.
